The ChatGPT O1 Pro Model – ChatGPT Pro
OpenAI and Sam Altman have been trying their best to stay ahead of the competition by making AI models more advanced. An advanced AI model means solving increasingly complex and critical problems. This is what AI companies have been striving to achieve for so long, and perhaps they are finally seeing the light at the end of this tunnel.
This model is not available for Free or ChatGPT+ users. The Pro model is specifically reserved for ChatGPT Pro Subscribers, which sets you back at a whopping 200$ price tag per month.
We are not joking. Check out their pricing plans.
So what does it do better?
Let’s see what OpenAI claims.
What does ChatGPT Pro do better according to OpenAI?
OpenAI claims that ChatGPT Pro can do advanced calculations. It provides a way for researchers, engineers, and other individuals who wish to utilise an AI model that will accelerate their productivity. In other words, the ChatGPT Pro or o1 Pro Mode provides results with such accuracy that even researchers and engineers can rely on the model.
Furthermore, The OpenAI o1 Pro model brings better results on ML benchmarks across math, science, and coding. The results show the model besting the previous o1-preview and o1 models.
What makes the o1 Pro model to be so accurate?
OpenAI says that the model will only generate answers for you if they are the right ones. They have a stricter evaluation setting, meaning the model will only generate the answer if it gets the answer in four out of four (100%) attempts.
This improved reliability also translates to the ChatGPT model to do more ‘thinking’ before generating an answer. This way, the AI will ‘hallucinate’ less and generate better, accurate responses to your queries.

Should I Pay 200$ a month for ChatGPT Pro Subscription?
With unlimited access to the ChatGPT, you can basically generate unlimited responses to your questions. This is something that is not included in the ChatGPT+ subscription either. ChatGPT Plus only extends the limit and has limited access to o1 and o1-mini models.
This also includes unlimited access to the o1 pro model, the most OpenAI model to date.
With that price tag in mind, it is clear that ChatGPT Pro was not meant for regular individual users. If you are working in a research field or if you have a business that heavily relies on accurate and factual content creation, the ChatGPT Pro subscription might be just right for you.
Conclusion: So is it worth paying for this Subscription?
If you have 200$ lying around per month and if you really need unlimited ChatGPT Pro access, sure. Why not?
However, with other competitors closing the gap, like Claude AI for example, we might see this model being redundant and overpriced in the near future. So, perhaps the best financial decision you could make here is not to subscribe to ChatGPT Pro unless you really need it.
Besides that, we really do not have that much data on how effective ChatGPT Pro actually is.
